The Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run, held on 17 January 2026 in Tinderet, Nandi County, Kenya, stands as a landmark success in Kenya’s growing sports tourism and mountain trail running sector.
Spearheaded through our strategic delivery and coordination, the event combined elite competition, community participation, and destination branding to create a high-impact, scalable sports property.

The race generated strong economic and tourism value, driving local enterprise growth, hospitality demand, and national media visibility while positioning Tinderet as an emerging mountain running and eco-tourism destination. This project reflects our model of using sport as a platform for economic development, destination marketing, and sustainable community impact, reinforcing its leadership in building world-class endurance and mass-participation events across Africa.
Summary of Past Events
2024 — Launch and Our Role
Our first involvement in organising the Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run came during the 2024 edition, where we provided comprehensive event delivery support. In that year, Our role included strategic brand positioning, integrated marketing, athlete support services, logistics coordination, and media coordination, bringing world-class event expertise to both elite competition and community experience aspects of the run.
2025 — Expansion, National Integration, and Continued Organisation
By January 2025, the Tinderet Barng’etuny Mountain Run had grown into a nationally recognized event, becoming part of the Magical Kenya Mountain & Trail Series—a joint initiative by Athletics Kenya and the Kenya Tourism Board to promote mountain and trail running as key drivers of adventure tourism in Kenya. The edition attracted elite athletes over a 14 km competitive course, with standout performances from Alfred Kipkemoi and Janeth Chepngetich, while partners such as KUCCPS supported talent development and environmental conservation initiatives linked to the race.
Building on foundations laid by our 2024 involvement, the 2025 edition benefited from strengthened event operations, media visibility, and brand positioning, helping professionalize organization structures and amplify national exposure. This strategic continuity reinforced the race’s credibility, accelerated stakeholder confidence, and positioned the event for sustained growth within Kenya’s sports tourism and mountain running ecosystem.
2026 — Standardisation, Broader Audience & Local Impact
In January 2026, the Barng’etuny Mountain Run continued to evolve with expanded race distances and categories; the main senior race was extended to 21 km to align with international mountain running standards, while junior and children’s categories were introduced to broaden participation and talent cultivation.

The event had become a multi-day cultural and sporting festival, paired with the Taptengelei Cultural Festival, drawing attention from national leaders, government officials, tourism promoters, and thousands of runners and spectators. This reflected the race’s growing significance as both a competitive platform and a driver of cultural tourism and local economic activity.
While our formal role centered primarily on the 2024 edition, our early involvement helped establish organisational practices and visibility that continued to benefit the race’s profile in later years.

Strategic Growth

Talent Development & Tourism Integration
The run has continued to serve as a talent pipeline for mountain runners and a tourism draw showcasing Kenya’s landscapes and culture, contributing to both athletics and local enterprise growth.
