Sirikwa Classic World Cross Country Tour

Across its four competitive editions (2023–2026), the Sirikwa Classic World Cross Country Tour transformed from a regional cross-country meet into a globally significant World Athletics Gold event.

Each year saw growth in competition quality, sponsorship investment, and organizational sophistication — with Golazo Right Here playing a notable role in event curation, marketing, and execution alongside Athletics Kenya and key partners.

Summary of Past Events

Origins & Growth (2023) — Building a Legacy

In 2023, the Sirikwa Classic formally emerged on the global athletics calendar as a World Athletics Cross Country Tour Gold-level race hosted at Lobo Village, Eldoret, Kenya — deep in the heart of Kenya’s famed high-altitude training region. This edition built on the momentum of the earlier Agnes Tirop Memorial Cross Country (renamed in 2023 to reflect local cultural heritage).

From its outset, the event balanced elite competition with community participation, featuring world-class senior races alongside under-20 and supporting categories. It quickly gained international recognition by attracting top athletes competing for ranking points and visibility early in the global cross-country season.

Through our Sports division — helped curate and manage the Sirikwa Classic from early on. As a sports marketing and events agency with global experience and local insight, we were involved in event planning, marketing, logistics, and race execution, crafting an engaging experience for athletes, partners, and spectators.

Consolidation & Elevation (2024) — Strengthening Competition

By 2024, the Sirikwa Classic had cemented its reputation as one of Africa’s premier cross-country meetings. Elite fields, including rising Kenyan stars and international competitors, pushed performances to new levels on the challenging Eldoret terrain.

Our event management ensured professional delivery and broad audience engagement, supporting sponsorship and community activation efforts that elevated the event’s profile further.

Strategic Sponsorship & Deepening Impact (2025) — A Major Milestone

The 2025 edition represented a turning point as title sponsorship expanded. Absa Bank Kenya committed significant funding to support the race and its associated activities, underlining the event’s value in developing athletic talent and promoting elite competition.

Maturity & Global Spotlight (2026) — Celebrating Excellence

By 2026, the Sirikwa Classic entered its fifth edition, firmly recognized as a global showcase for endurance running. Absa Bank retained its position as title sponsor with further investment, and the event continued to draw world champions, medalists, and strong fields from across Africa and beyond.

Our involvement during this phase was critical in integrating marketing strategy, stakeholder coordination, and narrative building, linking the athletic performances with cultural storytelling, sponsorship activations, and spectator engagement. Their expertise helped elevate the Sirikwa Classic from a continental event to an internationally followed cross-country landmark.
